Fine Mosaic Table Top Furniture
"Lovely stained glass mosaic table top furniture adds color and warmth to
your home, office,or business...functional art that's truly unique."
The Creation Process
I start with an unfinished table made of parawood.  Parawood is a hard wood that comes from the great rubber plantations of Malaysia.  The density of parawood is comparable to
that of birch or ash.  Its strength is rated the same as maple.  Once a rubber tree is no longer able to produce sufficient quantities of latex, it is cut for the process of making
furniture and a new tree is planted in its place.  This is an example of man's ability to fully use natural resources without harming the environment.

I stain, seal, and finish the table with top-of-the-line products.  For custom pieces, the protective coat can be gloss, semi-gloss, or satin, depending on your preference.

I prepare the table top to receive the stained glass, and then I draw the pattern directly onto the tabletop.

I measure and hand-cut each piece of stained glass using a variety of tools, depending on the piece's shape and complexity.  I grind each piece to remove all sharp edges.  This
ensures exposed edges on the tabletop are blunt so no one can injure themselves when dusting, wiping, cleaning, or otherwise using the tabletop.

When all the stained-glass pieces are in-place, I apply the grout by hand.  After curing, grout sealer is added to help protect the grout color from dirt and spills.

After the sealer thoroughly dries, I clean and buff the glass.  The result is a beautiful piece of art that serves a functional purpose in the home or office (hence, the term, "functional
art").  Each furniture piece is truly unique even when using the same pattern because no two pieces can be hand-cut exactly the same.

To complete the process, I sign each furniture piece on the bottom side of the tabletop.
