Observe in the picture below how I used painters tape to protect the wood finish. Grouting is messy. There's no way not to be messy.
The tape lets you grout without worrying about slopping it everywhere. It also provides a nice, clean finish line when done.

Another project complete! It turned out better than I expected. My wife likes this tabletop more than any other I've done. In fact, she
doesn't want me to sell it. She wants to keep it by her chair in the TV room.

The final table includes one coat of sealer so the grout doesn't stain from spills and dirt. Also, I carefully brushed on two coats of
polycrylic to the grout on the outer edges of the vitreous glass tiles. This prevents the grout from crumbling or disintegrating over time.
